Employees at the city of Rehoboth Beach have begun preparing for the move into new city hall.
To accommodate the time needed to accomplish the various tasks associated with moving each department, from Sept. 18 through Sept. 22, city hall offices — administration, finance, information technology, building and licensing and alderman’s court — will be closed to the public.
Residents can call 227-6181 to leave a message during the move or to request information.
The Rehoboth Beach Police Department will also move into its new offices. To contact the Police Department during the move, Call the nonemergency number at 227-2577 or dial 911 for an emergency.
The new city hall will officially open to the public Sept. 25 for normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. City bills and other correspondence can be mailed during the transition to the City of Rehoboth Beach, 229 Rehoboth Ave., or P.O. Box 1163, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
An open house is set for 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 1. Rehoboth residents and businesses are encouraged to stop by to talk with the mayor, commissioners and city staff, tour city hall and learn more about city operations.
