The Delaware Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing with regard to the proposed vacation and abandonment of an unimproved portion of Boyce Avenue at 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Laurel Public Library Mary Wootten Carpenter Community Room, 101 E. Fourth

St.

DelDOT has custody and control of an unimproved portion of Boyce Avenue, Lake Pines, Laurel, and the adjoining property owners have petitioned DelDOT to consider the vacation and abandonment of an unimproved portion of Boyce Avenue, measuring approximately 115 linear feet, which has ceased to be of necessity to the highway system.

Title 17, Section 1311 of the Delaware Code grants DelDOT the authority to vacate and abandon public roads or parts thereof, ceasing to be of necessity to the general highway system.
