The inaugural Fire and Ice Festival, a collaborative effort between the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce and the community it serves, is set for Jan. 26-28 in Bethany Beach.
Bethany Blues will sponsor food for a live sculpture-viewing party at Mango’s, 97 Garfield Parkway. The live sculpting will take place at the bandstand at 7 p.m. on Jan. 26 for free, and guess can dine and view from Mango’s deck. The party, hosted by Beta Sigma Phi Alpha Alpha Chapter, will feature The Funsters at 5 p.m.
The sculptures will then be placed around the town at 21 business locations, and will be displayed for the duration of the weekend. Adding to the winter wonder will also be an outdoor ice skating rink provided by Chill Entertainment. The ice skating rink will be located at Hollywood Street and costs $5 for 30 minutes, which includes skate rentals.
Capping off the perfect small town festival weekend will be the Culinary Tour which includes three restaurants: Bethany Blues, 6 N. Pennsylvania Ave.; 99 Sea Level, 99 Hollywood St.; and Sedona, 26 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Guests can eat and drink through the town for $30 and receive a drink and small plate at each stop.
