The General Federation of Women's Clubs Zwaanendael Women's Club and Julie and Jim Derrick, owners of Shell We Bounce Trampoline Park and Family Entertainment Center, announced the Shell We Donate initiative to benefit Cape Henlopen High School in-need students.
Donations of new and gently used warm clothing are being collected for the Cape Henlopen High School clothing closet. Donations can be brought to Shell We Bounce Trampoline Park and Family Entertainment Center, 32295 Lewes-Georgetown Highway, Lewes.
Donated items will be distributed by the GFWC Zwaanendael Women’s Club through their Community Improvement Project’s clothing distribution days that take place at Cape Henlopen High School. Clothing is also distributed as needed from the school’s on-site clothing closet.
Derrick, a former teacher and Cape Henlopen School District board member who employs
Cape Henlopen High School students, was touched after hearing Cindy Winkler, GFWC Zwaanendael Women’s Club president, speak about the needs of low income high school students. That encounter inspired Derrick to begin the Shell We Donate initiative.
“There seems to be many programs for younger students but, often, high schoolers are overlooked,” said Derrick.
