The Brandywine Valley Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will unveil a cat adoption center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 10 as part of the grand opening of a new PetSmart store in Rehoboth Beach, Unit 5, 19563 Coastal Highway.

The center will house up to 12 adoptable cats at any given time within a community room and individual housing units. The BVSPCA expects the center to help about 100 homeless cats per year find families. This everyday center will be complemented with adoptable animals available from various local rescue groups during periodic store events.

The unveiling will take place as part of the store grand opening activities, which include coupons, trick training sessions, pet photos and giveaways. BVSPCA representatives will be on-site with adoptable dogs and program information, in addition to introducing the cat adoption center.
