Delmar man fled from police in Laurel

The Laurel Police Department is requesting the assistance of the public in locating 25-year-old Alex Justice, Jr., of Delmar.

Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by a black male, later identified as Justice, on Tuesday, July 3. Justice fled into the Hollybrook Apartments complex and eventually got out of the car and fled on foot. Officers found a 7-month-old infant lying on the front seat and a 3-year-old child in the back seat of the vehicle.

During the investigation, 32-year-old Pastina Pitts, of 501 Hollybrook Apartments, approached the vehicle involved in the pursuit and requested to get her children. The vehicle involved in the pursuit was last registered to Pitts, and she eventually identified Justice as the children’s father.

Based on information obtained during the course of the investigation, Pitts was arrested for felony hindering prosecution. She was later released on a $2,000 unsecured bond.

A further investigation revealed Alex Justice Jr. has active warrants for his arrest issued out of the Delaware Sussex County Superior Court for violating his probation.

The Laurel Police Department currently has active felony warrants on file for Justice. He is also wanted out of Superior Court for violation of probation. Justice is known to frequent the Delmar, Laurel and Seaford areas.

Anyone with information regarding his location is asked to contact Cpl. Christopher Story of the Laurel Police Department at 302-875-2244 or Delaware CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-TIP-3333.
