33-year-old Jacob L. Capozio of Lewes allegedly robbed or attempted to rob multiple businesses and vending machines

Delaware State Police have arrested a Lewes man in connection with five commercial burglaries and other offenses.

Troopers were able to identify 33-year-old Jacob L. Capozio as the suspect in a rash of burglaries, criminal mischief and attempted theft complaints since early July 2018. Through investigative measures, troopers were able to connect Capozio to the following burglaries:

Waves Car Wash, 17246 Five Point Square, attempted forced entry. Magee's Produce, 33761 Wescoats Road, forced entry and removed an undisclosed amount of cash on two separate occasions. Carlos Ramos-Sandoval Garage, 28266 Lewes-Georgetown Highway, made entry into the business and removed tools and a television on two separate occasions. 

Troopers have also been investigating complaints related to vending/soda machines at Tanger Outlets and were able to connect Capozio to six time he caused damage to the machines and attempted to take cash.

On July 26, Capozio was seen walking on West Springside Drive in Milton and was apprehended without incident. He was charged with five counts of third-degree burglary, six counts of attempted theft under $1,500, six counts of criminal mischief under $1,000, six counts of possession of burglar tools or instruments involving a safe/vending machine, five counts of theft $1,500 or greater, three counts of criminal mischief under $1,000 and two counts of possession of burglar tools or instruments involving unlawful entry. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $17,610 secured bond.
