The assailant was identified as Jeffrey M. Parson of Millsboro

The Delaware State Police have arrested Jeffrey M. Parson, 33, of Millsboro, on assault and weapons charges over the weekend.

Division spokesman Master Cpl. Michael Austin said about 5:37 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 2,  troopers were sent to the 26000 block of Sea Mist Court to investigate a reported assault.

Once there, they found a 40-year-old man who had been stabbed in the torso. The victim told police he had been in a fight with an individual later identified as Parson.

The victim said Parson also had damaged the windshield of his vehicle.

The wounded man was treated at the scene and then taken to the hospital, Austin said.

Troopers recovered a bloody knife in front of a home adjacent to where the stabbing took place; Parson was found in a nearby home.

Parson is charged with one count each of Assault first-Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony and Criminal Mischief Under $1,000.
