Cyclists braved the rain to attend the seventh annual Broad Creek Bike and Brew Tour, sponsored by the Greater Laurel Chamber of Commerce, on June 2.
Bike and Brew featured local microbreweries, live music, food and cyclists who rode 15, 25,
50, 62 or 100 miles through various scenery on Delmarva. After their ride, cyclists attended an after party with barbecue chicken and unlimited beer samples. Proceeds benefited the Nanticoke Health Foundation in support of the Allen Cancer Center at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.
Kevin Christophel, president of the Laurel Chamber, presented a check for $8,799.93 to Steven Rose, Nanticoke’s president and CEO; Penny Short, Nanticoke’s chief nursing officer and chief operating officer; Rachel Gardner, Nanticoke Cancer Services director; and Renee’ Morris, Nanticoke Health Foundation executive director.
