The Lower Sussex NAACP will hold its 20th annual Freedom Fund Banquet at 4 p.m. Sept. 22 at Grace United Methodist Church, 7 S. King St., Georgetown.
This year’s theme is “Stand on the Power of Justice,” which reflects the group’s primary goal — to encourage community members to become more politically involved.
The Lower Sussex NAACP at the annual banquet honors individuals in the community who are continuously giving of themselves for the benefit of others. This year’s honorees are Doris Biles, Dannar Elzey, Jane Hovington and Myra Sampson.
This year’s keynote speaker is the Rev. Dr. John Moore Jr.
