Amir M. McMorris allegedly took police on a chase that went from Milford to Lincoln
A Mays Landing, N.J., resident has been arrested by Milford police in connection with a car chase that took place two months ago.
Milford Police Department spokesman Sgt. Robert Masten said the incident took place Aug. 30 when a department K-9 officer tried to stop a Hyundai Accent for a registration violation on Rehoboth Avenue. Instead, the driver, later identified as 19-year-old Amir M. McMorris, sped off and took the officer on a chase that ended on the east side of Lincoln when the trooper broke off the pursuit.
Troopers were able to identify McMorris as the driver, and he was taken into custody Oct. 25 by Delaware Capitol Police.
McMorris is charged with disregarding a police officer’s signal, terroristic threatening, hindering prosecution, the operation of an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, and unsafe passing on the left.
He was ordered held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $4,003 secured bond pending a Nov. 1 court appearance.
