The Atlantic Club — “Recovery at the Beach” — hosted its seventh annual Walk/Run for Recovery on Nov. 3.

The substance abuse and addiction epidemic brought the community out to walk and provided financial support toward scholarships for local high school students and for The Atlantic Club, so that they can continue their mission — to help individuals and families 24 hours per day overcome addiction and give them the resources they need to stay clean and sober.

This year, as a result of funds raised, two scholarships will be awarded to Worcester County high school students who experienced addiction.

At the November meeting, the Atlantic Club board members recognized its lead sponsors.

Sponsors this year include platinum sponsor Hirsch Electric, of Baltimore, whose gift supported the drug court participants allowing them to walk for free. Gold sponsors include Atlantic General Hospital and Deeley Insurance. Bronze sponsors include The Burbage Foundation, Sandy Van Fleet, Taryn Walterhoefer, Absolutely Bout Cleaning & More, Taylor Bank and C & C Ultimate Construction.
