Plans for a new auto repair shop, proposed for east of Georgetown off Route 9, were denied Feb. 2 by Sussex County Council because the applicant failed to provide a record of support.
County planners held a hearing on the application earlier this year, but the applicant failed to show up, so planners recommended denial.
During the council meeting hearing, the story was no different, as the applicant again failed to give a presentation on his plans for the 1-acre property lying on the south side of Route 9 and east of Rogers Avenue outside Georgetown.
"We attempted to contact the applicant with no success," said Lawrence Lank, county planning director. "This was recommended for denial due to lack of record of support. That's what we have to do in these situations."
The council voted unanimously to deny the application. Councilman Sam Wilson was absent.
