For its first musical, Sussex Technical High School, has decided to perform the Broadway classic, Ragtime.
Staff and students are excited to present the Ragtime School Edition for family and friends.
Written by E.L. Doctorow, Ragtime intertwines the stories of three families as they confront what it means to live in America. The musical focuses on the contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair.
Shows will be held at the Delaware Technical and Community College Theater at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 5 and Saturday, March 6. Tickets are $8 and are available at the door.
Directed by Jim DeBastiani, the production is entirely student-run, with Sussex Tech students designing the stage and taking control of all the technical aspects of the show.
