During a special meeting of the Indian River School District Monday, March 1, the school board voted to amend the regular school day and change several half-days to full-days to help make up days lost to recent snowstorms.
This change required a memorandum because it amended teacher contracts, said an IRSD spokesman. The memorandum was completed and signed today.
The changes are:
-Students will attend 15 additional minutes at the end of each school day beginning March 8.
-The last student day will be a full day on Friday, June 11.
-Students will attend full days on the previously scheduled half-days on March 26, April 16 and April 23.
-Teachers and para-educators will attend 17 additional minutes at the end of each day beginning March 8.
-Teachers and para-educators will teach students full days on the three previously scheduled student half-days.
-The last day for teachers will be June 16.
-The last day for para-educators will be June 14.
