Millsboro women among five persons arrested in Lewes drug sting

Delaware State Police and the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force (SCGTF) arrested five people on Friday, July 30, as part of an ongoing investigation into drug sales in Lewes.

The arrest occurred in the parking lot of the Village of Five Points on Savannah road, as troopers and the SCGTF observed what appeared to be an occurring drug transaction.

Officers watched as two females entered the Cape Pharmacy and exited again, allegedly attempting to have several prescriptions of Oxycodone pills filled.

After the prescriptions were filled, officers observed the females as they met other subjects of the investigation in the parking lot, and it was then the alleged drug transactions occurred.

Police topped the subjects as they left the parking lot and seized a total of 144 and ½ Oxycodone pills and $100 in suspected drug money.

Following is the arrested parties and charges.

Bethany Wade, 21 of Millsboro, was arrested for two counts of delivery of a schedule II narcotic, possession with the intent to deliver a schedule II narcotic, conspiracy second degree and maintaining a vehicle for transporting drugs. Wade was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released after posting $6,5000 bail.

Brittany Staples, 20 of Millsboro, was arrested for two counts of delivery of a schedule II narcotic, conspiracy second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. Staples was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the department of corrections on $4,750 bail.

Cynthia Spur, 47 of Rehoboth, was arrested on two counts of delivery of a schedule II narcotic, possession with the intent to deliver a schedule II narcotic and conspiracy second degree. She was committed to the department of corrections on $6,500 bail.

Brenda Decatur, 45 of Lewes, was arrested for possession of a schedule II narcotic and committed to the department of corrects on $500 bail.

Greg Swift, 24 of Lewes, was arrested for possession with intent to deliver a schedule II narcotic and released after posting $2,500 bail.
