Delaware State Police, around 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 9, responded to a 911 call about a house that had been burglarized.

Troopers learned that the victim, a 34-year-old Bridgeville man who was not named by police, was looking out his residence window and observed a tan Ford Explorer traveling back and forth on Rabbit Run Road.

The victim then used binoculars to observe the Explorer as it drove toward an adjacent property he also owned.

Following the observation, the victim and other family members went over to investigate the situation and when they reached the adjacent property, three of the alleged suspects fled the residence. The suspects, however, fled into a nearby field and were later apprehended by the alleged victims. One of the three suspects did manage to flee custody prior to police arrival and remains at large.

Prior to being spotted by the victims, the suspects allegedly had been rummaging through rooms at the residence.

Police, upon arriving on the scene, also located the Explorer a short distance away from the scene. Located inside the vehicle were two additional suspects.

All told, police arrested a 17-year-old Seaford male, 17-year-old Laurel male, 17-year-old Laurel female and a 15-year-old Greenwood male. The at-large suspect is a 16-year-old Bridgeville male.

All four apprehended suspects were charged with burglary second degree, possession of burglar tools, two counts of conspiracy second degree and criminal mischief. They were all released to their parents.
