Beebe Medical Center Staff will be joined by emergency personnel and JROTC from Cape Henlopen High School in a hazardous materials disaster drill on Nov. 7, 9-11 a.m. in Lewes. The community will see a presence of fire, police and EMS vehicles and personnel during the morning hours.
After postponing an earlier drill, Beebe is making another effort to inform the community so that people are not unduly concerned about an event at the hospital.
"In today’s world, the more we train our staff and participate in disaster drills with the community, the better prepared we become to respond to a disaster or emergency that would affect the medical center," explains Cheryl Littlefield, RN, Trauma and Emergency Management Coordinator for Beebe Medical Center.
