Lazy Susan’s reaches $10,000 goal

Sussex County Cancer Survivors Fund (SCCSF),and the staff and owners of Lazy Susan’s Crab House, have been working hard fundraising since the beginning of 2010.  The staff presented SCCSF board member Frank Shade with the final donation Aug. 6, bringing the total to almost $10,000.  The funds were raised througha beef-and-beer dinner, an auction and personal donations throughout the summer.  The business has hosted several fundraisers for charities in the past four years.

The funds will go toward the Tunnel Cancer Center PatientsSpecial NeedsFund.

“There are a lot of people diagnosed with cancer who can’t afford the treatment or the transportation,” saidShade.  “We all know or have someone in our familywe’ve lost to cancer.  This money helps other families in need.”

In keeping with the missionof the Sussex County Cancer Survivors Fund, 100 percentof the money raised for the fundstays in Delaware.
