On July 16, around midnight, Delaware State troopers responded to the area of the 30000 block of Sea Waye Lane in Rehoboth Shores, off of Long Neck Road in Millsboro, for a report of a subject who had been shot, apparently from the window of a passing car.

Through the investigation, troopers learned that a 17-year-old male victim from Millsboro had been sitting out on his porch when he heard a “pop” noise. He felt pain in one of his legs and was helped into the house by family members who called 911.

The teen was transported to Beebe Hospital in Lewes where he underwent surgery for the gunshot wound, and police said the victim described a passing vehicle could as a four-door light-colored car.

In what police said may be a related incident, occurring earlier in the evening, around 9:30 p.m., a 15-year-old male victim from Millsboro was accosted by Tremayne R. Moorman, 21, of the 30000 block of Sea Waye Lane, and an unknown white male subject named “Tim,” who reportedly beat the juvenile up and took an undisclosed amount of money.

This incident occurred in the area of Long Neck Road between the developments of Bay City and Rehoboth Shores.

Detectives believe the shooting may have been in retaliation to the robbery and are still investigating both incidents.

Warrants have been obtained for Tremayne Moorman for robbery and conspiracy, both felonies.

Anyone with information pertaining to these crimes is asked to call investigators at 302-856-5850 ext. 216 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
