With the demand for emergency services on the rise, members of Sussex County Council and EMS officials were on hand last week to open a logistics center in the Villages of Cinderberry.
The facility, which is located at 8 Mulberry Lane in Georgetown, will allow SCEMS to meet the current demand for emergency services, as well as future expansion, EMS officials said.
The Cinderberry facility will house the department’s Technical Services Division and Medic Unit 108, which provides advanced life support emergency medical services to all of Georgetown and the surrounding areas. The Technical Services Division provides medical supplies, equipment, maintenance, vehicles and uniforms in support of all of the department’s paramedics and facilities.
Also included at the facility are office and warehouse space, as well as shower and kitchen facilities for the medic unit.
Before the Cinderberry logistics center was opened on Dec. 16, the medic unit and Technical Services Division were located inside the Sussex County Administrative West Complex
