Since its inception 16 years ago, The Fund For Women has worked to fund projects that help women and girls– from housing to health care, and from job training to emergency food programs.
The Fund was established in 1993 by 16 “founders” who vowed to recruit 1,000 founders who would each contribute $1,000 to fund a $1 million endowment held at the Delaware Community Foundation.
The Fund’s Advisory Committee has established a new goal: to grow The Fund’s existing endowment of $2.3 million by another $1 million, Fund For Women chairwoman Kay Preston said.
“Even though we have met our original goal, there is still a tremendous amount of work to be done in Delaware,” she said. “We are counting on women from all walks of life to join us.”
