Parings for the state dual teams championship were set Sunday, with Indian River and Sussex Central both earning spots in their respective division tournaments.
The Indians, who finished in a three-way tie with Polytech and Seaford atop the Henlopen Conference Southern Division standings, were awarded the Division II top seed, while Henlopen North champ Sussex Central is the No. 2 in Division I.
Both clubs will receive first round byes in their tournaments and IR will take on the lowest-seeded team remaining in the DII semis, while the Golden Knights will likely face Caesar Rodney in a rematch of a dual meet that went Central’s way just two weeks ago.
Top seed in DI is defending state champion St. Mark’s, with Central, CR, Smyrna, Salesianum and Blue Hen champ William Penn rounding out the field. After IR in DII is Polytech, Caravel, Delaware Military, Seaford and St. George’s.
IR will be searching for its first state wrestling title, Central its second, as the Knights won their first in 2008. Central lost to St. Mark’s in last year’s DI finals.
The tournament begins at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in Smyrna, and all three rounds will take place with the pair of champions crowned at the end of the night.
