It wasn’t the prettiest win in Indian River’s history, but the Lady Indians did enough Jan. 21 in a non-conference 35-22 victory over Sussex Tech to end a three-game losing skid and improve to 8-4 on the season.

Leading by just a field goal at the break, IR out-scored Tech – which saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with the loss – 19-10 in the game’s final two quarters to secure the victory.

IR got 10 points each from junior guard Destiny Blake and center Chanel Handy in the win, while sophomore guard Alijae Cannon paced the Lady Ravens with her six-point effort.

Things do not get any easier for the Ravens Thursday, as they travel to Dover for a Henlopen North affair against the Lady Senators slated for a 7:15 p.m. tip. IR, too will get back to conference play, as it travels to Seaford the same day for a 5 p.m. Henlopen South contest.
