Almost 300 Sussex Techinical High School students walked across the stage and graduated during commencement exercises in Raven Stadium Thursday evening.

Blue skies and a light breeze provided a pleasant environment for the outdoor ceremony that saw a standing ovation for guest speaker assistant principal Michael Firch and a humble speech from class favorite and valedictorian Jake Jones.

Class of 2011 president Allison Haas talked about giving thanks and remembering friends and family in her speech during commencement.

Performances by the Sussex Tech Band and Sussex Tech Chorus provided music for a Raven Stadium that filled its stands to capacity and lined its fences with friends and family members of graduates.
