Sussex Tech senior Desmond Sivels has inked his letter of intent to play football at West Virginia Wesleyan College next year.

Sivels, who led the state in scoring both his sophomore and junior seasons, finished his high school career with 5,177 yards rushing and scored 81 touchdowns. He was twice a first team All-State honoree and one time second team fullback.

He will study civil engineering at WVWC and expects to compete for a starting job with the football team as a freshman.

“Football always plays a role, but I chose [WVWC] for academic reasons first,” said Sivels, who lives in Milford.

More on Sivels will be in our May 11 print edition of the Sussex Countian.
