Delaware State Police Sunday evening July 18, responded to a domestic complaint on Lambert Drive in Magnolia.

State Troopers at around 9:34 p.m. contacted the victim, a 26-year old woman from Magnolia, who had been assaulted.  Troopers learned that the victim and her boyfriend Tykeme T. Robinson, 18 also of Magnolia were engaged in a verbal confrontation on the streets of Lambert Drive.  The investigation revealed that Robinson became enraged over the victim speaking to another male.  The argument between to the two continued at which time Robinson began to punch the victim numerous times about the face and head.

The victim fled to a residence on Lambert Drive and entered.  The victim did not know the occupants of this residence however asked them to call 911.  Robinson chased the victim to this residence and force his way inside.  The 50-year-old male owner of the residence attempted to stop Robinson from entering but was unable to.

Once inside the residence Robinson picked up an electric can opener and struck the victim on the rear of her head causing her to fall to the ground.  Robinson next apparently left the residence for a brief moment, however returned and began kicking the pregnant female victim in the abdominal area as she lay on the floor.  Robinson fled the scene prior to police arrival.

On Monday July 19, Kent County Governor’s Task Force located and arrested Robinson. He was charged with:

  • Assault Second Degree
  • Burglary Second Degree
  • Remanded to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center $6,000 cash bail

Robinson was incarcerated on $6,000 cash bail to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center.

The female victim was transported to Kent General Hospital for treatment.  I currently do not have an updated status on the female victim or the unborn child.  The female is believed to be about 10 weeks pregnant.
