From a state tournament standpoint, it was a slightly disappointing football season for central Sussex teams.

Only Sussex Central reached the postseason after winning the Henlopen North championship, but a slow start to the year doomed the Golden Knights to a No. 6 seed and they were vanquished in the opening round.  Despite high expectations for both Sussex Tech and Indian River, both of those clubs had to settle for .500 records and missed the DI and DII tournaments, respectively.

Still, all three teams were well represented last week when the Henlopen All-Conference lists were released. Leading the way with 11 different Henlopen South All-Conference players was IR, while Central had nine in the North and Tech had seven. Central head coach John Wells was also named the Henlopen Coach of the year.

Following is the listing of central Sussex’s All-Conference honorees.
