John J. Hill, age 60, of Milton, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010 at his cousin’s home in Georgetown, following an extended illness.
In 1941, John’s family moved to Milton from Somerset, KY and he was born eight years later in Milford to
Irene (Bullock) Hill, of Milton and the late William Orville Hill.
He worked for Clyde Betts and Son for 17 years and in 1987 went to work for M & T Bank in Millsboro where he worked in the collections department until he retired, due to his health, in 2008.
John enjoyed H.A.M. radio and was very proficient in Morse Code.
In addition to his mother, John is survived by a sister: Patricia F. Hill, of Milton and a host of cousins and extended family.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton where friends may call after 12 p.m. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.
