Lucia E. Slawter, 91, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 in her daughter’s home.
She was born on August 30, 1918 in Wilmington, Delaware, daughter of the late Igniazio and Annunziata (Meloni) Tancredi.
Lucia enjoyed life as a homemaker, especially baking for her family. She liked crafts, sewing and going to Dover Downs Casino. Lucia was a member of the Modern Maturity Center and the County Seat Red Hatters of Georgetown Senior Center.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Malvern Slawter, two sons-in-law Robert Stanley and James Denham, a grandson Robert Denham and eight siblings.
She is survived by two daughters Estella Stanley of Hartly and Nancy M. Denham and her companion Greg Gabel of Georgetown, a son Malvern Slawter III and his wife Nancy of Dover, a sister Margaret Sund of Wilmington, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 13 at the Charles Arcaro Funeral Home, 2309 Lancaster Ave., Wilmington where visitation will be one hour earlier. Burial will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
