FRANCES RUTHVEN (JOSEPH) BAHN
Frances Ruthven (Joseph) Bahn, 88, of Lincoln, formerly of Georgetown, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009, at her residence with her family by her side. 

She was born June 28, 1920 in Georgetown, daughter of the late Julius H. and Flora E. (Hudson) Joseph.

Mrs. Bahn worked at the University of Delaware, Extension Program, for 28 years where she was known as a “Jack-Of-All Trades.”  She loved life, had a warm and humorous wit, enjoyed doing crafts, loved reading, and was a volunteer with numerous organizations.  She was the granddaughter of the famous waterfowl carver Ira Hudson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Bahn (1970). 

She is survived by her niece and her husband, Wanda and Steve Lorentz of Lincoln; and extended family from Chincoteague, VA.

A graveside service was held Wednesday, May 20, at Union Cemetery, Georgetown. 

Arrangements handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, Georgetown.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriot’s Way,  Milford, DE 19963.

MICHELE N. ARVEY
Michele N. Arvey, 31 of Georgetown, passed away on May 16, 2009. 

Arvey was a Registered Nurse working for FMC Dialysis Center in Milford.  She was a caring nurse and loving mother.  She was thoughtful, outgoing and beautiful.  She was always the life of the party and when she walked into a room, everyone noticed.  She never saw harm in anyone, and was a friend to all. She will always be remembered as a special sister and daughter. 

She is survived by her parents, Robert and Lou Ann Johnson of Georgetown; her daughter, Taylor Michele Bryan and her father Scott of Georgetown; brother, David Michael Arvey, Jr.  and Jennifer Brittingham of Millsboro; one sister, Krissy Lee Daisey and husband Roger of Georgetown; grandmothers, Grace Arvey and Faye West; uncles, Wm R. McGinnis, wife Pam of Gumboro, and Stewart McGinnis and wife Carolyn of Dagsboro; and aunt Sharon Eaton of Millsboro, aunt Pam Smith of Georgetown; uncle Bruce Arvey of Millsboro; two nephews, David and Dylan Arvey;  and her beloved canine friend Tinkerbelle, and feline friend Kitty.  

Services were held on Saturday May 23, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro. 

Rev. Ed Wilkins officiated.

Interment in Millsboro Cemetery Millsboro.

RUTH A. MATHER
Ruth A. Mather, 64, of Millsboro, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2009, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, Md.

She was born in Bryn Mawr, Pa., daughter of the late E. Everett and Ada Muller Mather.

She attended St. Matthews By-The-Sea United Methodist Church in Fenwick Island and was an avid horse and cat lover.

She is survived by three sisters, Barbara Mather of Wayne, Pa., Susan Mather of Wayne, Pa., and Sarah Malin and her husband Vern of Bloomsburg, Pa.; a niece, Amy D. Malin; two nephews, Adam Malin and John Cox; and her best friend, John F. “Jack” Coxe of Millsboro.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 30 at 2 p.m. at St. Matthews By-The-Sea United Methodist Church, 1000 Coastal Hwy., Fenwick Island.

Donations may be mad to St. Matthews By-The-Sea United Methodist Church, 1000 Coastal Hwy., Fenwick Island, DE 19944 or Bayside Chapel, 38288 London Ave., Unit 9, Selbyville, DE 19975.

RACHEL D. GRAY
Rachel D. Gray, 21, of Milton, passed away on May 20, 2009.

Gray graduated from Sussex Tech Georgetown class of 2006 and attended Imaculata University majoring in Psychology  in Imaculata, PA  during 2006-2007. She worked for 3 years at Pacific Sunwear in Rehoboth.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Melvin Gray. 

She was a student of Delaware Music and participated in the Odyssey of the minds for Sussex Academy of Arts and Science and was a chorus member. She was awarded 3rd place in 2006 for the Sussex Tech Competition of Auto Body Technology.

She is survived by her father Rodger P. Gray of Florida and her mother Sharon D. Mallory-Gray of Milton. She is also survived by maternal grandparents, Rose Smiley of Newark, and Robert Mallory of Fairhope, AL; A paternal grandmother, Vernice Gray of Baltimore, MD.

Funeral Service was held Tuesday May 26, in the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, Milton.

Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery Milton.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to defray funeral expenses.

IRVIN A. FORREST
Irvin A. Forrest, originally of Baltimore, Md., and later Georgetown, recently holding residence in both St. Petersburg, Fla., and Forest Hill, Md., passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2009. 

He was the devoted father of Jane F. Kuehne and her husband Robert A.; loving grandfather of R. Michael Kuehne, and his wife Reina E., Ronald D. Kuehne and his wife Joanie M., and Brent A. Kuehne and his wife Emily E.; greatgrandfather of Johnathan M. Kuehne, Kirsten E. Kuehne, and Michaela E. Kuehne; step-greatgrandfather of John Price and his wife Stephanie, and Mike Monzo. Also survived by his sister Marguerite Shirk and her husband Blair. 

He was predeceased by his siblings, Josephine Slusser and Edwin Forrest.

Services and burial were held in Maryland.
