Elaine W. Betts, age 57, of Lewes, DE went home peacefully to be with the Lord after a five month courageous battle with gallbladder cancer on Thursday, July 15, 2010.  She was born July 31, 1952 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, DE, daughter of the late Clifford M. and Mary Ellen Wolstenholme.

Elaine was the owner and operator of Elaine’s Custom Draperies for many years.  For the last ten years, she worked with her husband as the bookkeeper in their property management business.  She was an outdoor person who enjoyed the beach, gardening, wildlife and her beloved blue birds that came back to nest year after year in Wolfe Pointe.  She will be deeply missed by her husband and his family and the many friends she made through the years.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Jean Wolstenholme.  She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, David W. Betts of Lewes and his family of Georgetown, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elaine’s name to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or to Tunnell Cancer Center, 400 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.

David wishes to thank all the people who took such loving care of Elaine during her final days.
