Obit: James Leon McDorman

James “Jamie” Leon McDorman, Jr., 50, of Key West, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, May 10, 2010 while on a bus trip in Rocky Mount, NC heading home to Key West, FL.   Born in Crisfield, he was the son of Sharon Lee Adams Justice and her husband, his step father, Rocky of Millsboro and the late James Leon McDorman, Sr. who died in 2006.

Jamie was a carpenter by trade and loved his work, especially helping others in anyway he could.  He enjoyed being with his family and going to family functions. He was a deacon in the Key West Calvary Church, doing whatever he could in the church by gathering donations and assisting in feeding the homeless to doing carpentry and painting.  He was always excited in serving the Lord and took great pleasure in helping others. 

In addition to his mother and step father, he is also survived by his step mother, Bonnie Gaye McDorman of Salisbury; a sister, Lanette McDorman & her daughter, Kaitlyn Mears, Millsboro; a brother, Patrick Wescott & his wife, Amy & their son, Isaiah of Chincoteague; a step brother, Mark Justice and a step sister, Melinda Justice, both of Georgetown.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Irvin Kirk McDorman who died in 1960.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Rev. Randy McDorman will officiate.  Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron.
