DORIS B. JONES
Doris B. Jones, of Georgetown, passed away at Bayhealth/MMH in Milford, on May 5, 2009.

She was preceded in death by her parents Preston and Mildred Dinges Greenwalt.

Jones was a charge attendant at Stockley Center near Georgetown retiring after 30 years of service.  She also owned and operated the Holly Oak Day Care and was a very caring person who loved children, loved working in the yard and loved flowers.

She is survived by two sons, Wayne Beauchamp and wife Kim of Laurel, and Albert Beauchamp of Georgetown, one daughter, Jeannette Hudson and husband Rodney of Newark, a brother, Preston Greenwalt of Greenwood, a special friend, Stanley Jones, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her parents Preston and Mildred Dinges Greenwalt; two brothers, Marvin and Victor Greenwalt.

Services were private and at the discretion of the family.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in memory of Doris be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.

DAISY V. (VICKERS) TEAGUE
Daisy V. (Vickers) Teague, 84, of Georgetown,  died Saturday, May  9, 2009, at Lofland Life Care in Seaford.

She was the daughter of the late Harley  and Theresa (Breasure) Vickers.  For many years she had assisted her husband, Allen Ray Teague who passed in 1988 in the ownership and management of  their Getty Service Station,  retiring in 1980.

She is survived by her daughter Betty Lou West and husband Bill of Seaford; son, Richard Teague of Summerville, S.C.;  four grandchildren, Lisa West, Chris West, Phuong O’Day and husband John, Hoang Teague; and two great grandchildren, Chelsea O’Day and Amanda Lineweaver. 

The family would also like to express their gratitude and thanks to her eight wonderful and loving caregivers during the past year.

Funeral services with Rev. Jim Sipes officiating will be held at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 North Bedford Street, Georgetown, on Wednesday, (today) May 13, at  2 p.m., where friends may call at 1 p.m.  

Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Georgetown.

JOHN A. HAMSTEAD
John A. Hamstead, 69, of Georgetown, died Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD.

He was the owner of Elmer’s Market.

Mr. Hamstead was born on March 24, 1940 in Milford, the son of the late Elmer and Mabel Moore Hamstead.
 
He owned and operated Elmer’s Market along with his wife Dorothy and his family for the past 51 years, the markets are located on Route 16 in Greenwood and Route 18 in Bridgeville.  The original market in Greenwood was established by his parents in 1954.  John was a lover of life and nature.
 
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Ellis and Glenn L.; and one sister, Deane Tvelia.
 
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Dorothy M. Hamstead; five children, John  Jr. of Greenwood, Michael A. of Greenwood, Reginald H. of Lincoln, Diane Bolyard of Duncannon, PA, and Carol Hansen of Georgetown; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren; extended family and many many friends .
 
Memorial service for friends and family will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 7-9 pm at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 West Market St, Greenwood.
 
Burial will be private.
