Orpha Webb Ashton, 87, of Milford, died July 22, 2010 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Mrs. Ashton was born in Milford, DE the daughter of the late Lucius C. and Alice (Robbins) Webb. She assisted her husband Grover with the operation of Millsboro Pharmacy, which they owned and operated from 1961 until 1971. They then opened Barbara Gayle Hallmark Gallery operating in Georgetown from 1971 until 1974. She was a member of the Avenue United Methodist Church, a member of the Avenue United Methodist Church Womens Society, Naomi Circle, Tuesday morning Bible Study, a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Beta Master Chapter and the Piecemakers Quilters Guild. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Kathryn I. Webb and a brother L. Robbins Webb.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years Grover N. Ashton; a daughter Barbara Gayle Alexander, of Shepherdstown, WV; a son Stephen G. Ashton, of San Diego, CA; a granddaughter Bethany Leigh Alexander, of Shepherdstown, WV; and a sister Margaret Osborne, of Dover, DE.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church Street, Milford, DE. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Avenue United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 20 N.
