Everyone’s help is needed! The announcement that Delaware will be losing the MADD office in Millsboro at the end of the month is very sad. Nancy Raynor, the Director of MADD Delaware, is a remarkable, caring person.
MADD Delaware and Nancy Raynor have been very supportive of the Huff family after the loss of my brother. They have been a great resource and comfort during a very difficult time and I could not imagine going through the last 9 months without them. When MADD Delaware teamed up with the Georgetown Police Dept. for their first annual ride, they honored both my brother and a neighbor who lost their lives due to someone driving under the influence. It meant a great deal to our family and friends to receive such localized community support.
No one should have to go through what my family has been through without the caring support of someone like Nancy Raynor and MADD Delaware. The facts are that nearly 7,000 people were arrested for DUI in Delaware in 2008. 52 (43 percent) of the 122 traffic deaths in Delaware were alcohol related. Delaware residents need the Delaware Chapter of MADD and Nancy Raynor for the local victim support and services as well as the focus to eliminate drunk driving and make Delaware roadways safer.
