When Annie Besche-Martin presented me with the papers that showed she had just filed to run for Town Council, I had two immediate reactions. First, I was excited that a younger member of our community had taken the initiative to take upon such a huge task! Secondly, and most importantly, I was thrilled that it was Annie who had chosen to seek a position of leadership in our community.
Annie Besche-Martin is a one-of-a-kind person. All you have to do is look at the long list of organizations and interest groups in which she has been involved – not just involved as a member, but as a leader and contributor with a proven record for making things happen. Through her involvement, Annie has consistently demonstrated her commitment to making the Town of Georgetown a better place. No one has ever had to ask her to step up to the plate to get things done, she just sees the need and does it.
The Town of Georgetown needs individuals on our town council who can (1) bring fresh, new ideas to the table, (2) listen to the people and come to unbiased conclusions and decisions, and most importantly (3) be 150 percent committed and dedicated to both the Town of Georgetown and to their position as a council person.
I urge all Georgetown residents to take advantage of the opportunity to put someone like this on our town council by voting for Annie Besche-Martin for town council.
