The man who killed Hank Huff [in a drunk-driving accident last year] was given one of the highest sentences ever given in Delaware concerning a fatal DUI crash.
There is something that everyone needs to know if this has or ever happens to you.
Get involved.
Write letters to the attorneys, judges, newspapers, TV, radio and send them out. We have voluntarily tortured ourselves by reliving the loss of Hank over and over to make sure no one has the chance to forget.
Most of the time it seemed that no one cared and we were doing all this for nothing. However we were heard loud and clear and all of our hard work paid off. There are many to thank. All of Delaware's newspapers, local news stations, radio stations, the Attorney Generals office, the Judicial system, Delaware law enforcement, MADD Delaware, Georgetown PD, all the sponsors and contributors of the "Ride to Benefit MADD DE", Milton Little League, contributors of the fund designed for Josh and Zach, our family, friends, supporters and fellow Huff Roadians.
We will never forget the wonderful things you've done. You all helped us heal and become stronger. Our day has finally come and we can forget about the man that took Hank's life. Even once his sentence is completed, he is of no relevance to us from now on.
We now have the serenity to focus on bringing our family even closer and making our community safer.
