Delaware State Police have arrested a 15-year-old Lincoln boy after an altercation at Cape Henlopen High School Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 2:05 p.m., teachers were alerted to a large fight in one of the second floor hallways of the high school. When administrators arrived, they were able to break up one of the fights, but the 15-year-old male defendant continued to be combative, even as teachers were trying to stop him from striking other students.
He continued his disorderly behavior by making threats toward the teachers and students, stating he was going to shoot up and kill everyone at the school.
Troopers responded to the school, taking the student into custody and charging him with six counts of terroristic threatening, six counts of offensive touching, six counts of menacing, and disorderly conduct.
He was later arraigned at JP2 and committed to Stevenson House Detention Center in Milford on $12,500 secured bail.
As a precautionary measure and at the request of Cape Henlopen School District, the Delaware State Police were present at the high school this morning and will be there throughout the day to ensure the safety of the students and teachers due to the threat that the 15-year-old made.
