Georgetown —
Sussex County Councilman Vance Phillips will be continuing his rehabilitation at a center in Philadelphia.
Phillips suffered serious injury two weeks ago when he was involved in an aircraft accident. Since then, he has shown progress, regaining additional movement and sensation in his legs. In Philadelphia he will continue his rehab at one of the leading centers.
The accident occurred near Lynchburg, VA, while Phillips was trying to land an ultra light aircraft. The landing was rough and caused a compression injury to his spine, which shattered the T12 vertebra and pinched his spinal cord.
He will take part in intensive physical therapy for the next few weeks to attempt to reverse the damage.
