Milford baseball knocked off Sussex Central 9-8 in a Henlopen Conference Northern Division game Tuesday afternoon.
The Golden Knights' loss ended a recent five-game winning streak.
Central ace Trevor Wilkins continued to struggle on the mound, as the visiting Buccaneers posted four runs in the game's first two innings on five hits off the senior.
One bright spot for the Knights, who watched Milford post a pair of runs in the top half of the seventh and then stranded runners are second and third in their half of the frame, came from junior Matt Cleary, who doubled and homered in the loss.
Currently sitting at 10-6, Central's next two contests - Friday versus Indian River at Sports at the Beach and then Tuesday at Dover - could have huge playoff implications. Both Dover and IR, along with the Knights, are fringe playoff teams and a loss to either could keep the defending state finalists out of the postseason.
