On Thursday, Aug. 19, at the Shore Thunder Starz building on Route 9 at Ashbury Road outside of Laurel, will be awarding just over $38,000 in grants to 15 separate youth programs in the state of Delaware.

Four local programs that will receive awards are Delaware Tech’s Owens Campus, Georgetown Little League, Sussex Technical High School and Sussex Central Pop Warner.

The Horsey’s created the youth foundation fund to support programs in southern Delaware. Their goal is to keep children off drugs and off the streets by encouraging them to become involved in education and sports programs. An estimated 3,500 to 4,000 kids will benefit from the 15 grants set to be awarded.

Presentation of the grants is scheduled for 7 p.m.
