In a highly anticipated wrestling bout between Sussex Central and Caesar Rodney, the nationally ranked Golden Knights prevailed, 44-21.
This is the third time in the last four dual meets between the two powerhouse programs that went Central's way, and the second consecutive time the Knights earned a victory in CR's gym.
The Riders were without top guns Issah Meade (152) and heavyweight Josh Ferris for the contest.
With the win, Central (No. 29 nationally according to Amateur Wrestling News' rankings) stayed unbeaten on the season and set up a possible Henlopen North title bout with Smyrna on Feb. 12, but the Knights must first take care of business at Milford Friday and have a match with Cape Henlopen that still needs to be made up.
