The 2012 Autism Delaware event will include walks in both Wilmington and Lewes.

The fundraising walks will be held on April 21 at Bellevue State Park, Wilmington, and April 22 at Cape Henlopen State Park, Lewes.

The group's goal is to raise $200,000 to serve the people and families affected by autism. Prizes will be awarded to families who have raised $100 or more.

In a press release, Lisa Albany, chair of the Autism Delaware Walk for Autism, said most people form teams for the walk.

"This is a great way to build awareness of autisms impact on families," Albany said.

Event organizers are asking for volunteers and sponsors for the walks. For sponsorship and volunteering information, Kim Siegel is available at 302-224-6020 ext. 204.
