Indian River girls soccer finished its regular season with a 6-0 win over district rival Sussex Central.
The Lady Indians (12-3 overall, 11-2 Henlopen) will now await the announcement of tournament pairings, where they figure to be somewhere between a six and eight seed.
Against the Lady Knights, IR fittingly saw three seniors score on what was Senior Knight in Frankford. Leading the way was Caitlin Forte, who netted a pair of scores and assists. Marissa Atkins also found the net in the contest and added three assists, while Morgan Warrington scored for the Indians.
IR also got a glimpse into the future with a goal each from freshmen Devin Thune and Christina Diakos.
Nine Indians seniors – Forte, Warrington, Atkins, Miranda Warrington, Sydney Barch, Sarah Long, Emma Cannon, Delaney Davis and Kasey Keith were honored before the contest. Their win over Central was the class’s 53rd in its four years at IR.
