Just before the lightning struck, so did Indian Rivers’ bats in a key Henlopen Conference Southern Division contest at Woodbridge.

Trailing 3-0 and flailing at the dish against Blue Raiders ace Michael Pleasants, the Indians staged a three-run, fifth inning rally to knot the contest at three before a thunder storm suspended play.

No makeup date has been announced for the game, which will resume in the bottom half of the fifth when it is concluded.

Junior Jamie Jarmon ripped a one ball, two strike Pleasants’ offering to left-center for a two-run triple to tie the contest just after junior Max Wilkinson brought in Aaron Bennett with a fielder’s choice grounder that got the Indians on the board.
