Rivals Sussex Central and Sussex Tech did battle on the hardwood Friday night, but it was the Golden Knights who walked away with bragging rights, defeating Tech 61-27.

Central, led by Taylor Pritchett and Jasmine Hudson who combined for 44 of the Golden Knights’ 61 points, took control early with a 22-point outburst in the first quarter while holding Tech to just seven.

Castaysha Lewis kept the Ravens in the game scoring a team-high 11 points, but Sussex Tech trailed at half time, 36-15.

Central would score in the double-digits for the third straight quarter, outscoring the Ravens 17-4 in the quarter to take a commanding 53-19 lead into the final stanza.

With the dogs called off, Central and Tech played out the fourth with the outcome well in hand for Central; winning by the final of 61-27.

Pritchett matched the Ravens entire total on the night, scoring a game-high 27 points on nine field goals while going 6-of-7 from the line. The second highest scorer of the night for the Golden Knights, Hudson, contributed 17 in the victory.

The loss drops Sussex Tech to 2-7 on the year as they return to the court Monday at Woodbridge starting at 6:15 p.m.

For the Golden Knights, the win improves their record to 5-3 with Seaford next on their schedule Thursday afternoon at 5:00 p.m.
