Widener University and the Sussex Technical School District are now accepting applications for the fall 2014 doctorate degree program in K-12 Educational Leadership.

Widener began offering the program on Sussex Tech’s Georgetown campus in September 2013. Students interested in joining the next cohort will begin their studies this coming September.

The program offers professionals an opportunity to reach the highest levels of leadership within the public education system. At Widener, these doctoral candidates develop leadership skills grounded in scholarship, educational research and best practices.

The program consists of 78 credit hours; however students have the opportunity for a transcript review in order to have up to 24 credit hours of previous coursework waived from this requirement. All courses are held at Sussex Tech and come in various formats, including face-to-face, online and hybrid. Classes are small, which provides the opportunity for individualized instruction.

Anyone interested in applying for admission to the program should contact Michael Owens, director of Extended Learning at Sussex Tech at (302) 856-9035 or via email at mowens@sussexvt.k12.de.us.
