A 28-year-old Milton man was arrested May 6 for allegedly threatening a group of people with a gun the day before in a parking lot on Magnolia Street in Milton.

A 28-year-old Milton man was arrested May 6 for allegedly threatening a group of people with a gun the day before in a parking lot on Magnolia Street in Milton.

According to the Milton Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on May 5 when Melvin D. Jones allegedly pulled a handgun on a group of eight people, including three 16-year-old juveniles, and threatened to shoot. Police said Jones fled the scene with 31-year-old Stephanie Schenker and 33-year-old Julia Pabon, both of Milton. Police were unable to locate the subjects and issued warrants for their arrests.

Jones turned himself in to the MPD on May 6. He was charged with several offenses, including eight counts of aggravated menacing and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Jones was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $73,500 bond.

Police are still searching for Schenker and Pabon, who are each charged with third degree conspiracy. Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 847-3333 or the MPD at (302) 684-8547.
