A 30-year-old Lewes man is facing drug charges after he reportedly overdosed on heroin in the Georgetown McDonalds on Saturday.

Officers found Brian Barlow in the men’s bathroom of the restaurant about 9:28 p.m., according to Georgetown Police Department spokesman Lt. Lawrence Grose.

Barlow was conscious and told officers he had injected himself with six baggies of heroin, Grose said.

In the bathroom, officers also found a metal spoon that contained a white residue, as well as several used heroin bags.

Barlow was admitted to the emergency room at Beebe Medical Center and later released into police custody, Grose said.

Barlow is charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $500 secured bond.
